These Brown Butter Brownies are an absolute favorite, offering a simple and great upgrade from a box mix. The recipe is adapted from handletheheat.com.
1. Preheat oven to 350*F. Line an 8x8 pan with parchment paper.
2. Brown the butter: In a saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the butter. Swirling the pan occasionally, continue to cook the butter, increasing the heat to medium. Stir until the butter develops a nutty scent with brown bits at the bottom. Allow all of the milk solids (little white bits) to brown before removing from heat. Pour into a mixing bowl, marking sure to get all the brown bits (that’s where all the flavor is).
* Immediately add in the chopped chocolate & stir until melted.
* In another bowl combine the brown and white sugars, eggs, and vanilla. Beat mixture on high speed until completely thickened, fluffy, & lightened in color, about 8 minutes. On low speed, gradually pour in the warm brown butter chocolate mixture.
* Use a rubber spatula to stir in flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
* Pour into prepared pan & smooth out with a spatula. Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, do not overcook.
* Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, or allow to cool for clean slices. ENJOY🍫♥️
